MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Checking Blood Pressure

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the Medical Assistant Program, students will have the ability and knowledge to work directly with patients and assist with their care. Our program will provide students with relevant skills and knowledge in assisting the physician with minor surgical procedures, performing patient assessments, and recording EKGs. Students will also receive training in general office procedures, such as, scheduling appointments, accounting procedures, and maintaining patient charts. After completing the didactic portion the program, students will attend an externship for a total of 80 hours.

Students will be prepared to take the national certification examination for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association. Students may also qualify for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and the Certified EKG Technician (CET) examinations when they complete all requirements.

THE STUDENT MUST COMPLETE:

  • All courses are taught in sequence and each student must successfully complete each course with a minimum of 70% to complete the program

  • Achieve 70% lab participation 

  • 80 hours of clinical experience in a clinic (externship)

Administrative Procedures

Anatomy and Physiology with Medical Terminology

Laboratory Procedures

Cardiology and Surgical Procedures

Pharmacology

Pediatrics, Gerontology, and Nutrition

Behavioral Health

Employment Skills and Strategies

COST OF THE PROGRAM: $3,500.00

Tuition: $3,000.00

Books & Supplies: $400.00

Application Fee: $100.00

Cost of Books & Supplies as well as the Application Fee are due upon enrollment.  

Payment plans are available for the full tuition amount. 

CLASS SCHEDULES: 

Day Class Schedule: Monday & Tuesdays

8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Length of the Program: 14 weeks of campus instruction followed by 80 hours of externship

Night Class Schedule: Monday & Tuesdays

5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Length of the Program: 21 weeks of campus instruction followed by 80 hours of externship

REQUIREMENTS TO ENROLL:​

  • Provide copy of their current government issued picture ID

  • Provide copy of their valid social security card

  • Provide high school diploma or GED transcripts
