EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
BASIC PROGRAM
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The Emergency Medical Technician - Basic course prepares the student to provide prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries.

THE STUDENT MUST COMPLETE:

All courses are taught in sequence and each student must successfully complete each course with a minimum of 70% to complete the program

Achieve 70% lab participation
-
72 hours of clinical field experience
MINIMUM PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS FOR CONCENTRATION COURSE OBJECTIVES:
​To prepare competent entry-level emergency medical technicians in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Introduction to the EMS Profession
EMS Operations for the EMT
Assessment, Airway Management & Pharmacology for the EMT
Shock & Trauma for the EMT
Medical Emergencies for the EMT
Special Patient Populations for the EMT
Clinical Experience
